'About us' contains a certain exaggeration. The web site is created, maintained and developed by a single person, i.e. by me, Leo Cover or Lev Pokrovsky. The latter is my real name and Leo Cover is my online penname. I use penname to avoid possible and currently unwanted inquiries from people who know me, but not as an online marketer. They know me as a scientist in physics and math and that is is true. I used to be a scholar and is still committed to the Science. |
| My scientific and programming activities are reflected in my last 'terrific' resume.
The reason of changing my career in such a radical way is banal and simple. I got seriously sick and old. Yet I have some time, limited though, for work and my mind wants to be busy as it used to be during all my life, and I want to be, as much as I can, useful to my family, to my children, grandchildren, other people I love and society.
Yet, the title 'About us' is correct, because we are family. My wife Xenia M. Pokrovsky is a world renown Christian Orthodox icon writer (one of the first ten of the best). Her works and background are available to see and read online in her web site Izograph Studio, the site that I have built years ago and maintain until now.

This is our house in Sharon, Massachusetts, USA we live and work in.
We used to have five children. But our second son Dmitry Pokrovsky passed away from cancer in his 33. He was a remarkable person. I wrote an obituary for his memory. It is available online as a preface to the online edition of his book "The Dictionary of Church Terms" (Russian). The book became extremely popular in Russia. The Dictionary is reproduced word to word in numerous Orthodox sites in Russia unfortunately often without mentioning the author. |

We are Christian Orthodox believers. As such, we confess the Nicene Creed (381), every single line of it. We belong to the Orthodox Church in America (OCA).
The family immigrated in the USA in 1991 from the former Soviet Union. We did, because we did not believe that any positive development in the USSR was possible and we were glad to use, while it was possible, just appeared uninspected opportunity to escape.
So what else? Yes, our hobbies. We love reading all kind of books, serious and entertaining, scientific stuff, novels, fictions and mysteries, history. We, me an my wife, love classic music and Orthodox church chanting. My wife loves poetry. I am a singer in the choir of our parish of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, Boston USA. I love words, their origins, history and roots. I love languages. I enjoyed studying Latin, Ancient Greek and Church Slavonic.
